TRANSPARENT PRICING
You should know exactly what you are paying before you bid. Biddie charges one fee. That is it.
Charged on the winning bid only. Covers platform maintenance, smart contract operations, and support. You never pay this fee unless you win.
If you pay with a credit or debit card via Transak, their processing fee applies. This is not a Biddie fee — it is the payment processor. Pay with ETH directly and skip this entirely.
Biddie runs on Base (Coinbase L2). Typical gas cost: USD 0.01 to USD 0.50 per transaction. This is the blockchain network fee, not a Biddie charge.
HOW WE COMPARE
| Platform | Buyer Fee | Seller Fee | Hidden Fees | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Biddie | 2.5% | 0% | None | Crypto-native users skip on-ramp fees entirely |
| StubHub | ~15% | ~10% | Service fee + delivery fee | Fees vary by event and often exceed 20% combined |
| SeatGeek | 15-20% | ~10% | Service fee shown late in checkout | "Deal Score" hides the actual final price until cart |
| Ticketmaster | 25-30% | Varies | Service + facility + order processing | Fees are larger than the face value on many tickets |
Fee ranges reflect publicly published platform policies as of 2026. Actual fees vary by event, ticket category, seller, and region; competitor platforms surface their final fee total only at checkout. Sources: each platform's own help and pricing pages.
FREQUENTLY ASKED
Are there hidden fees?
No. The 2.5% platform fee is the only fee Biddie charges. If you pay with a credit card through Transak, their processing fee (2-4%) is shown before you confirm. If you pay with ETH directly, there is no processing fee at all.
Do I pay fees if I do not win the auction?
No. You only pay the 2.5% platform fee when you win. If you are outbid, your funds are returned in full — no fees deducted.
Can I avoid the credit-card on-ramp fee?
Yes. If you already hold ETH in a wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, etc.), connect it directly. You skip the Transak on-ramp entirely and pay only the 2.5% platform fee plus a fraction of a cent in network gas.
What is a "gas fee" and why is it so low?
Gas is the cost of processing a transaction on the blockchain — like a tiny processing charge. Biddie runs on Base (Coinbase's Layer 2 network), where gas typically costs USD 0.01-0.50 per transaction. That is 100-1000x cheaper than Ethereum mainnet.
Why is Biddie so much cheaper than StubHub?
Traditional platforms charge 15-30% because they operate expensive infrastructure, pay credit card processors, and take profit margins on both sides. Biddie uses smart contracts on Base — the auction runs on-chain with minimal overhead. We pass the savings to you.
